Bob Stoops Announced as Guest Speaker at 2017 Fields & Futures Bowtie Ball

Sep 24, 2017

A long-time supporter of Fields & Futures, former University of Oklahoma head football coach Bob Stoops has been announced as guest speaker of this year’s Fields & Futures Bowtie Ball, to be held Thursday, December 14 at the Chevy Bricktown Events Center – presented by SandRidge Energy, Mercy, TotallyTickets.com and Group One Thousand One.

Promoted as a night to celebrate, honor and thank the coaches who make the world a better place – one athlete at a time, guests will have an opportunity to hear Coach Stoops talk about the role of ‘Coach’ and the responsibility it carries to impact and shape the lives of young student-athletes.

“I have known and admired Bob for many years. His Bob Stoops Champions Foundation was an early adopter of the Fields & Futures mission and we will be forever grateful for his support. We are excited to have him participate in this year’s Bowtie Ball,” says Fields & Futures founder Tim McLaughlin.

Keith Sinor, Oklahoma City Public Schools Director of Athletics, commented, “We appreciate this opportunity to celebrate our coaches and recognize their sacrifice and hard work. This event is a highlight of our year. To have Coach Stoops involved is exciting on a lot of levels. He knows better than most what it takes to grow young athletes into young men and has witnessed throughout his lifetime the impact a coach can have on the life of a child.”

The Oklahoma City Police Athletic League (OKC PAL) will receive this year’s Tommy Noble Fields & Futures Linking Arms Partner Award, presented each year to an individual or organization that is helping accelerate the Fields & Futures mission to rebuild and maintain 42 OKCPS athletic fields, in an effort to grow student participation in sports and give more kids the opportunity to benefit from that experience. Says McLaughlin, “The new OKC PAL Youth League is a great example of how PAL provides opportunities for our inner-city youth … opportunities they would not get otherwise. We are excited to celebrate their work at this year’s Bowtie Ball.”

Supporting sponsors include Bartley Industries, The Chickasaw Nation, Gulfport Energy, Inasmuch Foundation and Kickapoo Casino.

A limited number of sponsorships, tables and tickets remain available for purchase. Please visit BowtieBall.org or email i[email protected] for details. Follow Fields & Futures on Facebook and Twitter @FieldsFutures.

But we will always need more boosters to support more kids. So, today, we are excited to launch a citywide effort to grow the F&F Booster Club.
