Hole in One Challenge Presented by Bank of Oklahoma

Jun 8, 2015

Fields & Futures is excited to announce Bank of Oklahoma as our sponsor of the inaugural  ‘Hole-in-One Challenge’ to be held at our 2015 Team Up to Tee Off Coaches Appreciation Golf Tournament.

Bank of Oklahoma will donate $100,000 to help rebuild our next field if a lucky golfer can sink a hole-in-one on Hole #8 on June 22, 2015 at The Greens Golf & Country Club. The hole will be set up at 165 yards, and 144 golfers will get a chance to become a hero with one lucky swing.

“This is the perfect experience for us to provide to our golfers in the tournament. The concept behind the ‘Team Up to Tee Off’ format is to pair businesses, community leaders and donors with OKCPS coaches to help strengthen the connections between our communities and our schools. To give a participant the opportunity to make a hole-in-one to help improve the facilities at a school, where a coach they’re playing with coaches at, is about as good as it gets. It ties directly back to our mission,” says Tim McLaughlin, President of Fields & Futures.

Tim added, “If a golfer is able to make a hole-in-one, we’ll forever honor them and Bank of Oklahoma by awarding field naming rights at the improved field. A plaque will be installed to always honor the commitment, courage and creativity that Bank of Oklahoma displayed to sponsor and underwrite the challenge.”

“We want this to be our signature sponsorship each year. Once we’ve completed our mission of improving all 44 middle school and high school fields within the OKCPS district, we’ll utilize future potential donation proceeds to invest in field maintenance, youth development programs or after-school transportation systems. The precedent will be set due to Bank of Oklahoma. We’re so grateful for that.”

Beyond 500: Coach Patrick Cudjoe Teaches Winning On and Off the Court

John Marshall boys basketball coach Patrick Cudjoe recently eclipsed 500 career wins, a milestone only a dozen other active coaches have reached. With deep roots in Oklahoma City Public Schools as a student, athlete, educator, coach, and parent, his impact on the OKCPS community continues to extend far beyond the court.
