Former NFL coach and current ESPN analyst Herm Edwards will be in Oklahoma City on Dec. 17 as the guest speaker for the Fields & Futures Bowtie Ball at Chevy Bricktown Events Center.
Edwards, who coached the Kansas City Chief and New York Jets, is perhaps best known for his emphatic “You play to win the game,” response to a press conference question while with the Jets and his “Don’t Press Send,” advice to NFL rookies about social media.
Edwards will speak at the Field & Futures Bowtie Ball, which “celebrates the profession of coaching.” All proceeds from the event go to support Fields & Futures in its work to grow student participation in Oklahoma City Public Schools sports. Fields & Futures is committed to rebuilding and maintaining 44 athletic fields across the district.
