In 2011, when Fields & Futures co-founder Tim McLaughlin asked OKCPS Athletic Director Keith Sinor how he planned to rebuild athletic fields and programs across the district, in order to grow student participation in sports, Keith’s honest answer was, “I don’t know, but this is what needs to happen.” The rest is history. The Fields & Futures Booster Club was born!

Fast forward. Today, OKCPS students join teams knowing they will play and compete on quality, maintained fields, courts, and tracks – all thanks to you! It has taken a small army of donors, partners, and supporters to level the playing field for these kids, giving them the sports experience they deserve. More kids on more teams means more kids benefiting from all that sports have to offer, putting them on a proven pathway to graduation and success beyond high school.

But the work didn’t stop with restored fields. Along the way, we have had the privilege of seeing the very real impact of sports in a kid’s life and know it will take an even larger army of supporters to meet the needs of our city’s urban core youth. To them, it’s simple – team is family. A team is where they make friends and learn to work together. It’s where they are provided resources and experiences they may not get otherwise. It’s where those special moments happen that can change the trajectory of a young person’s life.

At the end of the day, everything matters to these kids, and we consistently see them rise to the occasion.

Today, we are excited to launch a citywide effort to grow the F&F Booster Club. Just as we talk about wanting more kids on more teams, we will always need more boosters to support more kids. A donation of any amount automatically makes you a member!

Donate today to join the F&F Booster Club and see how the power of many can put #MoreKidsOnMoreTeams!

Coaching Culture: Agents of Hope

Oklahoma City Public Schools has a storied history of producing some of the state’s best athletes and teams. But when resources dwindled and facilities suffered from decades of neglect, the district's once-thriving sports culture declined. Today, Fields & Futures and OKCPS are committed once again to fostering a coaching culture that attracts and retains agents of hope who want to impact lives on and off the field.

OKCPS Student-Athletes Honored by Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame

The Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame recognized six OKCPS student-athletes for their remarkable athletic achievements and academic excellence during the 2023-2024 school year at the 40th annual All-Sports & Scholar Athlete Awards Ceremony. Daryen Jefferson, James Allen, Chloe Threatt, Luisa Talavera, and Jailyn Ramirez were named Jim Thorpe High School Players of the Year for their respective sports, while Cameron Pearson received the Virgil Milliron Wrestling Scholarship Award.
