Fields & Futures 2025 Wrapped

At Fields & Futures, sports are more than competition. They are a proven pathway to confidence, connection, and community. In 2025, we strengthened our commitment to increasing youth sports participation across Oklahoma City Public Schools (OKCPS), delivering measurable growth through new programs, expanded partnerships, and record-setting participation.

Overall Impact at a Glance

In the 2024–25 school year, Fields & Futures programs – powered by strong community partnerships – impacted thousands of student-athletes across Oklahoma City Public Schools. A total of 4,816 unique OKCPS students in grades 7–12 participated in school-based sports, while YMCA (2,803 3rd–4th grade roster spots) and Police Athletic League (2,471 5th–6th grade roster spots) partner programs expanded access through additional seasonal opportunities, building a strong pathway for students through sports.

Together, these efforts reflect the shared impact of schools, nonprofit partners, coaches, and supporters working toward a common goal. Every league, camp, clinic, event, and championship supported in 2025 helped expand opportunity and build momentum toward our long-term vision of increasing youth sports participation across OKCPS to 50% by 2030.

From first-ever leagues to championship events, here’s how Fields & Futures programs made an impact in 2025 – broken down by sport.

Tennis: Launching the First OKCPS Middle School Tennis League

2025 marked a historic milestone with the launch of the first OKCPS Athletics Middle School Tennis League and Tournament, expanding access to tennis for middle school students across the district.

  • 8-week league
  • 60 hours of programming
  • 4 schools: Wheeler MS, Belle Isle MS, FD Moon MS, Southeast MS

This program also introduced a new partnership with First Serve OKC, bringing high-quality instruction and mentorship to student-athletes. Tennis became a new sport within our collaboration with the OKC Police Athletic League (PAL), strengthening community partnerships and broadening access to youth sports opportunities.

Track & Field + Cross Country: Honoring Legacy Through Participation

The Simon Greiner Track & Field Program remained a cornerstone of Fields & Futures programming in 2025.

  • 4,485 student engagements
  • Supported 12 Track and Field and Cross Country events held throughout the year
  • 2 out-of-state events involving student-athletes from 5 OKCPS high schools.

Each event provided consistent opportunities for students to compete, develop skills, and feel a sense of belonging – while honoring the legacy of Simon Greiner through accessible, high-impact youth sports programming.

Golf: Creating Access to Lifelong Sport

Golf participation continued to grow in 2025 in collaboration with our partners at First Tee, PAL, 3 Bird, introducing students to a sport that builds focus, discipline, and confidence.

  • 8 Fields & Futures supported golf events
  • 5 practice putting greens installed at OKCPS high schools
  • Over $5,000 in greens fees and range tokens provided to OKCPS golf teams

Through these events, students gained hands-on experience, skill development, and access to golf courses and instruction that may have otherwise been out of reach.

Cheer: High Participation and Championship Momentum

Cheer was one of the highest-impact programs of the year, engaging hundreds of student-athletes across OKCPS.

  • Hosted over 380 student-athletes at Summer Camp
  • 350 student-athletes competed at the 2025 ACAC Cheer Championship
  • 30+ coaches supported through clinics, camps, and choreography

From foundational skill development at camp to district-wide competition, cheer continued to foster teamwork, confidence, and school pride while creating inclusive entry points into youth sports. This year felt especially meaningful as we celebrated being named a 2025 Sports 4 Life grant recipient through the Women’s Sports Foundation and ESPN.

Soccer: Expanding Opportunities on the Pitch

Soccer continued to be a key driver of sports participation in 2025, offering multiple entry points for students to get involved and stay active.

  • 275 athletes touched by our programming
  • 8 soccer camps and 9 events hosted in 2025
  • 1 Pro Combine, giving student-athletes a unique, next-level experience

Together, these events helped broaden access to the game while creating pathways for both skill development and aspiration across OKCPS.

Looking Ahead

2025 represented meaningful progress toward our long-term goal of increasing youth sports participation across OKCPS. With new programs launched, partnerships expanded, and thousands of student touchpoints, Fields & Futures is building sustainable pathways for students to stay active, engaged, and connected.

As we look ahead, we remain committed to ensuring more students have access to the life-changing power of sports. Thank you to our partners, coaches, schools, and supporters who made this year possible. Together, we’re building a stronger future for Oklahoma City – one student-athlete at a time.
