Mccoy Has Middle School Field Named after Him

Oct 7, 2013

Former Southeast High product and Sooner All-American, Gerald McCoy returned to his roots at Webster Middle School on Sunday afternoon.

McCoy had his middle school’s athletic fields named after him as a part of the Fields and Futures program.

The 2012 NFL Pro-Bowler will now have a signed Tampa Bay Buccaneer jersey and picture of himself hanging inside the school.

Webster Middle School now has newly refinished softball, baseball and football fields for its athletes to play on.

What Drives Capitol Hill and U.S. Grant Football?

U.S. Grant and Capitol Hill may be rivals, but their football programs have more in common than their annual "Southside Bedlam" rivalry game. From 2014-2020, the OSSAA allowed both programs to play as independents so they could create their own schedules and rebuild their programs. Now playing in Class 6A, neither team has found success in district play, but they also know the scoreboard isn't the only standard of success.
