Fields & Futures appreciates the support of Dr. Angela Lumpkin, Professor and Department Chair for the Department of Health, Exercise and Sport Sciences at Texas Tech University. The author of 23 books, more than 60 scholarly publications and upwards of 240 professional presentations, Dr. Lumpkin believes getting more children active in sports can play a key role in the country’s fight against childhood obesity, while helping to improve graduation rates and academic performance. In this article published in the Summer 2015 issue of Phi Kappa Phi FORUM, Dr. Lumpkin includes Fields & Futures and Oklahoma City Public Schools in an impressive lineup of organizations, all working towards the same outcome.
